Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become ordained?

In order to be ordained as a Christian Minister, you need to complete relevant training. If you choose to study online with Christian Leaders Institute, you will be required to submit your transcripts to OCM and arrange a date for your ordination. If the training was taken offline, then your mentor will announce your ordination date once the list was confirmed by the board

Is there any cost involved?

We strive to make everything free to all people to access ministry training and further opportunities. However, if you choose to order your ordination certificate, there are minor printing, certification and postage fees that are usually 10k Frw.

Do I have to leave my church in order to join Open Christian Ministries?

No. As long as you are part of the True Church the one that Jesus is building, the one built up of living building stones. You can simply join us for discipleship and other ministry activities aimed to advance the Kingdom of God. We are not selective as long as people share the same belief with us. Your church (Congregation) is where God has placed you to make contributions in edifying the body of Christ. Otherwise, we train you to become effective at your usual ministry, at your local church/congregation.

Is it totally okay if I believe but don't attend church?

No! Being a member of a Bible-teaching local church is important (Hebrews 10:25). But more important than joining a church is knowing you are born again (2 Corinthians 13:5). No church can save you. Only Jesus saves, by grace through faith in His death and resurrection (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10).

Which is the one True Church?

A number of Christian denominations assert that they alone represent the one true church – the church to which Jesus gave his authority in the Great Commission (See Here). The reality is that the one true church is the universal body of believers everywhere who have given their hearts to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. That is the only true church (see Ephesians 1:22-23, Colossians 1:18).
